Helen took the hitherto safe seat of North Shropshire from the Tories following the ignominious resignation of Owen Patterson, made much worse by Boris Johnson's brazen attempt to change the rules to protect him.
Helen was born in Nottingham and read history at Cambridge. She is a chartered accountant and held a number of posts in the private sector. She contested North Shropshire in 2019 coming third.
Helen took on the Levelling Up, Housing and Local Government brief on her election.
She was re-elected in 2024, almost trebling her majority.
