Harrington  took  over  at  South  Derbyshire  after  the  death  of Henry  Wardle.

Harrington  was  a  chartered  accountant  from  Surrey.

Harrington  was  a  director  of  the  Debenture  Corporation  who  were  caught  up  in  the  Jabez  Balfour  scandal.

Harrington  was  defeated  in  1895.

He  died  in  1927  aged  83.
