Constituency  : Lewes  1865-74

Walter  replaced  John  Blencowe  at  Lewes.

Walter  was  the  son  and  heir  of  the  Earl  of  Chichester. He  was  educated  at  Harrow  and
Cambridge.

The  Tories  took  the  seat  in  1874  and  held  it  until  the  arrival  of  the  current  incumbent  Norman  Baker.

Walter  became  Earl  in  1886.

He  died  in  1902  aged  63.
