1529 Walter Menzies

Constituency : Southern  Lanarkshire  1906-13

Walter  took  South  Lanarkshire  from  the  Conservatives.

Walter  was  the  son  of  a  tube  manufacturer  and  carried  on  the  family  business.

Walter  contested  Glasgow  Central  in  1892  then  South  Lanarkshire  in  1900.

Walter  supported  the  single  transferable  vote. He  supported  temperance  but  was  not  teetotal  himself.

He  died  in  1913  aged  57.
