Constituency : Spalding 1917-18
George took over at Spalding when Francis McLaren was killed in the war.
George was
the son of Viscount Peel and
therefore the grandson of Sir Robert Peel.
He was educated at Oxford and became
a prolific writer on politics and
economics.
George was
appointed Clerk to the Treasury.
George stood
down when the seat was abolished in
1918.
He died in
1956 aged 88.
