2328 Duncan Hames
Constituency : Chippenham 2010-15
Duncan won the new seat of Chippenham defeating one of David Cameron's approved candidates, the so-called "Black Farmer", Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones. It was a notional hold for the party.
Duncan was educated at Watford Grammar School and Oxford where he was on the executive of the student union and represented the Oxford Union in debating competitions. He became an accountant with Delottes. At 22, he stood in the by-election at Tottenham in 2000 coming second. He stood for Watford in 2001 coming third. He moved to Wiltshire and became a councillor in 2003. He also joined the board of the South West of England Regional Development Agency. He stood for Westbury in 2005 maintaining the party's strong second place. He is a Christian.
In 2011, Duncan became PPS to Chris Huhne then switched to Nick Clegg in 2015.
Also in 2011, Duncan married fellow MP Jo Swinson.
Duncan was heavily defeated in 2015 and decided not to stand again. He became Head of Policy for the UK chapter of anti-corruption organisation Transparency International
He is now 42.
