Cyril took  Maldon  from  the  Tories.

Cyril  was  a rector's  son.  He  became  a  barrister, specialising  in  railway  law. He  stood  for  Cambridge  in  1886.

Cyril  later  became  a  county  court  judge,

He  died  in  1913  aged  69.
