John  took  Wareham  from  the  Tories.

Wareham  was  something  of  a  family  borough  and  John  was  the  third  MP  of  the  same  name. He  was  a  lieutenant  in  the army.

He  died  shortly  after  his  re-election  in  1868  aged  37.
